Antique Tricycle and 7-Up Advent Calendar

Vintage Christmas Inspiration I

Photobucket

"Father calls me William, sister calls me Will,
Mother calls me Willie, but the fellers call me Bill!

Most all the time, the whole year round, there ain’t no flies on me,
But jest ‘fore Christmas I’m as good as I kin be!"

Eugene Field (1850 - 1895)

I can't think this necessitates much of an explanation. It is what it is.
The basket tied to the back of the bike is from Pottery Barn.
The Jingle Bell Book has a 1948 copyright. I can't remember a Christmas
my mother didn't have it on display.

Come to think of it, the framed Santa picture might be of some interest.

The picture was an advertisement/give-away put out by the
Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Bottling Company. It's an advent calendar. Each day a cotton ball was to be glued on Santa's beard. By Christmas Day, the beard was completely filled in. The advent calendar contains no date or markings. The 7-Up logo in the lower right corner is late 1960s to mid-1970s.

  4. Love that bike! We have that same Madeline doll, but she just sits in a chair. Your vintage touches are wonderful.

  5. I've never seen the Santa Advent Calendar. That's actually a really cool idea. Is there glass on the frame so that you could actually apply the cotton balls without harming the calendar itself? The three wheeler is also delightful. Thank you for sharing your charming vintage Christmas treasures. I really like them! Cherry Kay

  7. Hi again! I'm so glad that you took the time to listen to KC's music. Thank you so much. She travels on the East Coast and in the South a lot. Next year, she'll also travel West. If she performs near you, I hope that you'll go see her. You can sign up for her email list on her web site if you have an interest. Thanks again! Cherry Kay

And thank you so very much for your advice about the mason jar tealight candle holders. I bet that would do the trick. I'm such a novice! THANK YOU!!!
